90s Fook Luk: I had this one first, and I was absolutely blown away. Cherrywood, medicinal, camphor. This has aged so elegantly, I was shocked. Absolutely amazing tea, I love it!
Everything i want in a tea. Luxurious, the camphor keeps going super strong and lingers in the aftertaste. Towards the late steeps the core tea had a more bright and sugary sweet profile.
Seems like distinctly excellent material underneath with phenomenal, carefully done, storage. Clean, but hot and humid enough to really transform it without overly cooking it. If this one was in my budget, I'd fill my storage with cakes of it. But the price truly makes sense, this is a masterpiece. Easily one of the best teas i have ever had.
2000s Spring Orchid:This had a luxurious texture. Floral perfume in a cup. Mineral notes. Very interesting. Very tasty. Seems like excellent material, another one with surprisingly amazing storage. Got better and better as it steeped out. By the end steeps it was strongly pushing into throat and had a sugary sweetness. I will likely get a cake of this when my sample runs out! What a treat, and with room to further age, I suspect.
90s Dragon Phoenix seemed partway between these two in terms of its age progression, or perhaps this material just ages slightly differently from the fook luk. Another delightful tea.
Your consistent and amazing storage is not something I have experienced and the underlying material seems so much nicer than factory teas from the same era.
